Welcome to History and Ice Cream! Inspired by my teenage son Isaac's interest in history, I wanted to spend summer vacation exploring as many historical sites as possible and eating as much ice cream as possible. New England is known for its history, but also of its love for ice cream.
We're based in Newton, Massachusetts, so sometimes we're exploring historic sites right in our neighborhood, but other times it's day trips and longer trips. I love quirky historic sites like the Westwood Town Pound or the Ruins of Franklin Park, but also more traditional ones, like the JFK Historic Site or the Freedom Trail.
This started as an Instagram project, but I added this blog to make the posts a little more "permanent."
